Marketing Update 5/24/06

OHCA now Accepting

OHCA has been listening - and realized the inconvenience many of our members felt by not being able to pay with American Express.  So, in order to serve you better we have set up systems that now allow us to process this type of credit card. 

We will continue to accept as well as Check.

Invite a non member.  As we are getting ready to gear up for the Aloha 2006 Convention it's a perfect time to invite other businesses that are not currently involved with OHCA to come and learn more about how they could benefit from membership.  For this committee meeting we are opening the invitation to businesses who are not current members of OHCA.

Current topics submitted for agenda::

  • Introduction to the Culture Change Movement in Long Term Care and it’s affect on Marketing
  • Refresher course on Member Benefits

  • NEW ideas for next year’s sponsorship opportunities/packages

Convention Booths Going Fast!

New Workforce Center being added to www.ohca.com

OHCA has been receiving many requests from members wanting to have the ability to post job openings and resumes through OHCA.  We are currently working on an creating the answer to these requests.  There will be a Workforce Center section added to our website.  OHCA hopes this section will serve as a great tool for individuals currently working in the long term care profession as well as those looking to move in to this career field.  The section will offer information and resources in the following areas:

  • Overview of Long Term Care Profession: why work in LTC, General Job Descriptions
  • Work Preparedness: how to get a job in long term care, licensing requirements, training
  • LTC Trends & Resources: Updates, news, data, and latest issues affecting the profession
  • Scholarships: businesses/foundations helping long term care professionals move further in their career
  • Job Opportunities: job opportunities, job seekers, volunteer opportunities

New Directories Have Been Mailed to Members.

You may have already received the newest copy of the OHCA Directory & Buyer's Guide, and if not it should be in your hands within the next couple of days.  Each member of OHCA receives one free copy of the Directory.  Additional copies are available for purchase at $50 each and there is an order form on page 19 of your new directory.

It's That Time Again — Quality Provider Articles

I am collecting articles to include in the July/August Quality Provider.  All OHCA Business Partners are able to submit press releases and articles with “best practice” or operations improvement focuses for publication in The Quality Provider (it goes to Assisted Living Facilities, Residential Care Facilities, In Home Care and Business Partners). 

The article should not be company specific, but at the end of the article we will include a brief bio. and contact information for you.  Please send any articles to jillb@ohca.com. OHCA reserves all selection and editing rights.

Please keep articles to around 1 pages in length.

Articles need to be submitted by FRIDAY June 30, 2006

Hawaiian Trip Sponsorship Opportunity

OHCA is giving away a Hawaiian Vacation package for two in connection with this years Aloha 2006 Convention.   

We are still in need of a one or two more sponsors to help make this happen.

I have already started marketing the vacation give-away and would love to be able to thank the individuals/businesses that contribute towards it.

The sponsor(s) would get recognition in the following ways:

  • Recognition on OHCA's website on all the convention event pages
  • Be listed on marketing that OHCA sends regarding the vacation give away (newsletters, e-updates, mailings….etc)
  • Signage at the event
  • Verbal recognition during the Convention
  • Page in Registration Packets
