The ALF/RCF Regulatory Webinar Series helps providers in being prepared for new and highly challenging regulatory requirements. This session will review the regulations regarding resident move-outs. In this webinar, OHCA’s Legal Counsel, Gwen Dayton will discuss best practices and legal considerations for involuntary move-out situations in long term care settings. Participants will review and address regulatory requirements relating to consumer disclosure, including new requirements, implementation timelines, and sample summary templates.
This webinar will also provide a general review of all consumer disclosure related standards and best practice in community-based care, including the following and how they related to move-outs:
- The types of care the community is not able to provide;
- Statements about move out procedures when care exceeds disclosed service capability;
- Evaluation and return procedures for when a resident leaves the facility for acute medical, psychiatric, nursing facility or other care; and
- Whether the community will arrange for or otherwise coordinate hospice for a resident.
