Bias is defined as prejudice in favor of or against one thing, person, or group compared with another, usually in a way considered to be unfair. Bias can be an emotionally charged concept, but an important concept to explore when doing the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion. In this webinar, the presenter will discuss how individuals can become aware of their personal biases and how they affect and influence actions and decisions such as whom they hire or promote, how they interact with persons of a particular group, what advice they consider, and how they operate. The presenter will then take participants on a journey to free themselves from identified biases to continue the DEI journey.

This webinar is part of a 3-webinar Lunch and Learn series, funded by the Oregon Department of Human Services. Participation is welcome to all professions and roles.
