SUMMARY
The Regional Director of Health Services oversees the delivery of health care and supportive services provided by Health Services Directors and the direct care staff at the community level in the assisted living facilities.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Responsible for the development and implementation of training programs for staff in the assisted living environment meeting state and federal requirements as well as company policies and procedures.
Assists and trains health services directors in attaining the skills needed to meet the care needs of the residents, fostering a non-clinical, resident-centered approach to the planning and delivery of services, and supporting residents’ rights to participate in decision-making.
Provides training to the health services directors on the company assessment tool and the development of care plans assessing the health, functional and psychosocial status of each resident.
Communicates and trains staff on corporate protocols and participates in policy and procedural development.
Audit nursing records and chart notes periodically or no less than two times each year at each community.
Maintains up-to-date knowledge of all rules and regulations pertaining to resident care in each assigned state and responsible for keeping informed of industry and health care trends and standards, applying new knowledge to meet the changing needs of residents.
Participates in the marketing efforts of the management team by representing the residence in a positive manner to outside agencies and participating in residence social functions.
Participates in trouble-shooting with Executive Directors and Health Services Directors and keeps the Senior Director of Clinical Services up to date on field activities and developments
COMPANY WIDE RESPONSIBILITIES
Supports a dignified and caring atmosphere with residents, residents’ families, visitors and staff.
Protects privacy and confidentiality of information pertaining to residents, employees, the residence, and company information and records.
Maintains a safe and secure working environment and practices safe working habits.
Complies with the attendance policy.
Maintains neat appearance, good personal hygiene, and appropriate attire.
Assists with special projects as assigned and performs other related duties.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Participates in recruiting, selecting, training, overseeing, motivating and evaluating community Health Services Directors.

QUALIFICATIONS
Must have a current, unencumbered RN license. Excellent written and oral communication and motivational skills. Ability to creatively problem-solve in both resident care and employee management situations. Individual must be a team player, well organized, and flexible.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Registered Nurse consulting experience for multiple facilities, with a minimum of 3 years working in geriatric nursing, including experience with medication administration, delivery systems and pharmacies. Two years in supervisory/management position, with experience with budgets, staff development and training.
