What is Melodie’s Role?

Melodie is OHCA’s director of education. You may recognize her from our education events. She develops and coordinates OHCA’s educational workshops, special events, and conferences, while also managing OHCA’s business partner relationships. She is your go-to contact all your education  needs. Say hello to Melodie at mking@ohca.com!

Favorite Part of Her Job

Melodie’s favorite part of her job is creating experiences for our members at our events. No matter the size or format of the event, it’s like a big puzzle and you have to have a strategy to get that puzzle complete in a certain time frame to make sure all the pieces fit together. The puzzles are never the same and are ever changing, so it is always exciting.

Favorite Oregon Restaurant

It’s hard to choose just one! Melodie is a huge fan of Bamboo Grove in John’s Landing. The Hawaiian food and relaxed vibe never disappoint.  She and her family also like to dine at the Helvetia Tavern in Hillsboro. It’s a little hidden gem out in the country and says the burgers are definitely worth the drive!

Favorite Activity Outside of Work

Outside of work, Melodie loves arts and crafts projects.  Her favorite types of projects are crochet and cross stitch. When it’s not raining, she enjoys taking walks and going on bike rides with her kids.
