Transportation/Parking

The Salem Convention Center is accessible by car, Cherriots public transportation, bus, and Uber/Lyft. Parking is available at the Salem Convention Center. There are also several privately operated parking garages and metered parking spaces within three blocks of the Salem Convention Center. Drop-off Accessibility

If you have mobility needs, please consider being dropped off at the Salem Convention Center porte-cochere on Commercial Street. This will give you close access to the west side of the building, where the OHCA Spring Expo will be taking place.

How do I get myself and my staff registered?

Please visit our Spring Expo event page for all registration and event information.  

To Register a Group

From the event page, click the “Register here” button. Select “Register a Group”. Log in to the OHCA Member Portal. If you do not know your username or password, please contact OHCA at 503-726-5260 or info@ohca.com. Select the individuals from your organization that you would like to register and continue the registration process.

You may log in to your Spring Expo registration anytime to add or change your registrations. If you have questions or run into challenges, please contact OHCA.

Do I need to be vaccinated to attend in person?

No, OHCA is currently not requiring vaccinations to attend in-person events. Review the OHCA Event Safety Protocols here.

Will there be OnDemand content available?

No, this OHCA event will be held live and in-person only and will not feature OnDemand content.

Is Wi-Fi available at the event?

YES! Complimentary Wi-Fi is available for all OHCA participants in common areas at the event.

What if state surveyors arrive while I’m attending this event?

The Oregon Safety, Oversight and Quality (SOQ) unit survey teams have agreed that buildings that have at least one or more staff registered for the OHCA Spring Expo will not be surveyed during the event dates, April 11-12, if they register by the following deadlines:

  • Assisted living and residential care facilities must register by March 17
  • Nursing facilities must register by March 17

Please note, this only applies to full surveys and initial revisits only and will not apply to complaint surveys with priority to immediately investigate.

This will not apply to buildings registered after the deadlines.

How do I claim CEUs?

In accordance with the Oregon Health Licensing rule Chapter 853, Division 50 the OHCA Spring Expo education sessions meet the required CEU domains for nursing facility administrators and ALF/RCF administrators. Please view the session details to ensure the sessions of your choosing are good for the credits you need.

  • Maximum CEUs available for this event: 8.0
  • Memory care qualified CEUs available: 3.0

Washington State Administrators: OHCA will make an attempt to have the Spring Expo sessions approved for Washington state long term care worker credits. It is the responsibility of the administrator to ensure the CEUs earned at this event meet the requirements of WAC 246-843-130.

When will I get my CEUs after the event?

Attendees can individually track their own continuing education units (CEUs) at the Spring Expo. Using your desktop or mobile device, participants are easily able to track CEUs, complete online evaluation forms, and print a transcript of sessions attended.

  1. During each education session you attend, RECORD the unique code word announced for that session. Use the tracking tool in your event program to remember your codes.
  2. Once you’ve completed the steps for each session you attend, complete the overall event evaluation, then DOWNLOAD AND PRINT your CEU form.

Your username and password to access the CEU website are the same as what you use to log in to the OHCA Member Portal. More information about this site will be provided closer to the event date!

What are the education tracks?

Education tracks are the categories for educational sessions with complimentary content. This may help plan your event experience.

How can I access session handouts?

Handouts will be available approximately 2 weeks prior to the event. An email will be sent to all registered attendees with the password for the handouts website. If you have not received this password, please email info@ohca.com.

What meals are included?

Continental breakfast will be available on both April 11 and 12. Lunch is included on April 11.

A note about special dietary needs: OHCA and the Salem Convention Center are happy to accommodate any special dietary needs. You are invited to inform OHCA of your special dietary needs through the online registration system, or by emailing mking@ohca.com at least TWO weeks prior to the event for planning purposes.

What should I wear?

There is no official dress code for the OHCA Spring Expo, however we encourage people to dress comfortably in business casual attire. Please dress in layers as the temperature in the meeting rooms fluctuate and change.

Will there be a happy hour?

Yes! Please join OHCA for happy hour on the first day of the Spring Expo following education and activities. All event attendees are invited to join OHCA for a complimentary happy hour! No ticket or advanced registration is necessary.

Where: Santiam Gallery of Salem Convention Center

Located in the Santiam Gallery of the Salem Convention Center, this happy hour includes complimentary appetizers, beer, wine, and soft drinks. Happy hour is an excellent opportunity to connect with your coworkers, colleagues, and friends as well as make new connections!

Key Information For Exhibitors/Sponsors

Exhibit Move-in times:

  • Thursday, April 11, 2024, from 7:00 a.m. – 11:00 a.m.

Exhibit Move-out time:

  • Thursday, April 11, 2024, 3:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.; All exhibitors must be fully moved out by Thursday, April 11, at 6:00 p.m.

Attendee Lists

  • The pre-event attendee list will be sent to confirmed exhibitors and sponsors on April 4.
  • The post-event attendee list will be sent to confirmed exhibitors and sponsors by April 18.

Electricity

You may order electricity directly through The Salem Convention Center. There is a $20 fee for electricity; exhibitors are responsible for any fees associated with ordering electricity.  Contact Salem Convention Center Director of Catering Theresa Greco to pre-order your electricity theresa@salemconventioncenter.org. Include the show name and date in your email.

Education Attendance for Exhibitors/Sponsors

Exhibitors and sponsors may attend the educational sessions during this event.

Tabletop Show Appearance

This event trade show will be a tabletop show only. Exhibitors receive an 8’ table, linen, skirting, chairs, and wastebasket. Exhibitors MUST keep their display within that 8’ table space.

Shipping

Exhibitors are responsible for arranging the shipping in and out of the Salem Convention Center. The Salem Convention center does not have large storage space, so packages may be received by the Salem Convention Center no earlier than April 8, 2024, and must be prepared to ship out by April 11, 2024. Packages will be delivered to your tabletop location. Outgoing packages must be dropped off at the Salem Convention Center sales office.
