Register for the Resident Care Coordinator Training

Join OHCA for this month’s Resident Care Coordinator in Community Based Care training program. This three-day intensive orientation to the roles and responsibilities of the resident care coordinator/manager in community-based care will benefit both new and experienced assisted living and residential care professionals. The purpose of this course is to familiarize the learner with the role of the resident care coordinator and the skills needed to perform this role. Pertinent regulations and processes will be examined. The course engages the learner in service plan development, the elements of a safe medication system, change of condition and monitoring requirements, abuse and neglect reporting, and quality improvement practices.

Course Objectives

  • Explain the role of the resident care coordinator in the residential care and assisted living setting
  • Identify and discuss regulations pertinent to resident care and services
  • Distinguish between a complete and incomplete service plan
  • Recognize the elements of a safe medication system
  • Examine change of condition and monitoring procedures
  • Discuss abuse and neglect reporting requirements
  • Describe quality improvement practices

This course is an 18-hour virtual training program and features a combination of live webinar training, online learning, and reading material. While this program is being held virtually, please plan to spend 18-20 hours completing this program, just as you would if you attended this program in person. You may begin your reading and online learning at any time.

Daily Schedule

  • 9:00 a.m. – Noon: Pre-reading and online learning modules
  • Noon– 1:00 p.m.: BREAK
  • 1:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m.: Live webinar instruction with daily instructor
