This news update is from Mary’s Woods, an OHCA provider member.
Mary’s Woods, a nationally recognized non-profit retirement community, is thrilled to announce the recipients of the Sr. Roswitha Scholarship program for the year 2023. Established with the vision of encouraging the full development of individuals by creating educational access and training opportunities for team members and their families, the Sr. Roswitha Scholarship program has garnered substantial support from its donors. The program, now in its second year, has successfully awarded more than $35,000 in scholarships, helping employees, their children, and spouses pursue higher education and achieve their academic goals.
The scholarship fund is sustained through generous contributions, with the majority of donors being residents at Mary’s Woods. In the most recent fundraising appeal, an anonymous donor encouraged gifts to support the program with a $20,000 matching grant.
John Kovash, a resident at Mary’s Woods, former chair of the Mary’s Woods Residents’ Council, and current member of the Mary’s Woods board of directors, expressed his support for the program.
“We recognize the transformative power of education and wholeheartedly endorse this initiative. Mary’s Woods is a remarkable place to live and work and this program is just one example of many,” said Kovash.
The Sr. Roswitha Scholarship program serves as a testament to the dedication Mary’s Woods prioritizes for its employees. James Arp, Mary’s Woods chief executive officer added, “By investing in the educational pursuits of our team members and their families, we are not only demonstrating our commitment to their personal growth and gratitude for their work and talents, we are also creating a legacy for the community by fostering a hopeful future for the world beyond our campus borders.”
