Free Classes on Medication Safety in Tigard & Fall Prevention in Salem Next Week

Oregon Care Partners is offering exceptional free training opportunities for caregivers in Tigard and Salem next week. Delve into the age-related risks associated with common prescription and over-the-counter medicines and explore strategies to improve medication safety for the person in your care in Tigard on Tuesday, May 14. Safe Medication Use in Older Adults will be held at the Hampton Inn & Suites Portland Tigard Hotel from 1:00 pm to 4:15 pm. On Friday in Salem, discover evidence-based fall prevention strategies to significantly reduce the risk of fall-related injuries, a leading cause of hospitalizations for older adults. Strategies to Prevent and Reduce Falls is scheduled on May 17 from 8:00 am to 12:30 pm at the Salem Health Community Health Center (CHEC) located within the Salem Hospital.

In-person and online classes from Oregon Care Partners are available to anyone living or working in Oregon at no cost, offering an invaluable resource for individuals who work with and care for older adults and individuals living with dementia. “The knowledge and skills gained from Oregon Care Partners training programs can help caregivers feel more confident and capable in their roles, ultimately improving the quality of care they are able to provide,” care professional Zulfa Airgosh at a Multnomah County Assisted Living Community, said of the training.
